Hannah's Story

Hannah Souvignier

Hannah started attending the Whittier EMCC (Employment, Media and Community Connections) program in 2018, after finishing her post-secondary school program through the Fremont Unified School District. Hannah quickly acclimated to the variety of activities and opportunities that the EMCC program offered. Before the COVID 19 epidemic, Hannah was working at Ada's Café, and Hope's Thrift store in Fremont, with the support of a Hope EMCC staff person. She also volunteered at the Los Gatos Senior Center, Emma Prusch Garden and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed hiking, bowling, Zumba class, and visiting museums, shopping and learning about computers and media. Since the shut down of face to face programming, Hannah has been enjoying the From Hope to Home program and attends the on-line program on a regular basis. One quality that her friends at Hope really like about her is that she is always so positive and friendly with everyone she interacts with. Hannah will soon be moving in to her own place in Santa Cruz that is being developed by a group of parents of children with special needs.
